Need quick advice on a multimedia project? Have a video, audio, editing, or production question and not sure where to start?

The Learning Multimedia team is trialling weekly Multimedia Drop-in Hours at the Baldessin Education Studio, designed to provide informal, practical and timely support for ANU people working with multimedia for learning and teaching.

Drop in anytime during the session to speak with the team, explore ideas, troubleshoot issues, or get guidance on the next steps for your project.

When and where

Time: Mondays, 1–4pm
Location: Baldessin Education Studio, Baldessin Precinct Building Level 4 W4.05
Booking: No appointment required — just drop in.

Trial period: Starting in June, the drop-in hours will run as a six-month trial.

The Baldessin Education Studio will continue to be available for regular studio bookings.

If the studio is in use during Drop-in Hours, the session will take place in the common room next door.

What can we help with?

These sessions are intended for quick, practical conversations and hands-on guidance. You are welcome to visit us for support with:

  • quick advice on multimedia ideas or project planning
  • video, audio, photography or editing questions
  • basic troubleshooting for existing multimedia projects
  • induction and demonstrations of studio equipment or workflows
  • guidance on recording, editing or publishing learning materials
  • advice on how multimedia can support student learning and engagement
  • discussion of possible training needs for individuals or teams
  • AI in workplace and workflows

The drop-in format is particularly useful if you have a small question, want a quick second opinion, or are unsure whether your project needs a formal production request.

Who should attend?

These sessions are open to ANU people who are interested in using multimedia to support teaching, learning, communication, engagement or educational innovation.

Whether you are preparing course materials, recording short teaching videos, developing a student-facing resource, planning a workshop, or exploring how multimedia could support your teaching practice, you are welcome to come and speak with us.

Why we are offering this

Multimedia is increasingly part of how learning and teaching happens at ANU. The Learning Multimedia team supports staff through video production, photography, editing, training, mentoring, and advice on the effective use of multimedia in education. This aligns with ANU’s 2026 learning and teaching focus on supporting quality teaching, strengthening professional development, and helping staff respond to emerging areas such as digital learning and AI.

The drop-in hours are also intended to make multimedia support easier to access. Instead of needing to know the exact service, form, workflow or technical solution in advance, staff can start with a conversation.

Need more detailed project support?

For larger or more complex projects, the team may recommend a follow-up meeting or a formal multimedia request after the initial conversation. The drop-in session is a good place to clarify your needs, identify the right production pathway, and understand what support may be available.

We look forward to seeing you at the Baldessin Education Studio.
