ANU academic and professional staff with an interest in all things AV and multimedia are encouraged to join the AV Innovators Network and start a conversation! The AV Innovators Network communicates through a Microsoft Teams Channel.
The AV Innovators focuses on all things audio/visual and was developed out of a desire to help others and share innovations happening around the ANU campus. With more experience in online modes of learning and dual delivery post COVID, there has been an increased interest in how to teach successfully online and how to use multimedia assets in teaching. At the same time, with siloing and recent staffing cuts, there has been a absence of spaces to share advice or ask questions. The AV Innovators CoP helps to fill that space.
Members are spread across the university and represent academics, support staff as well as IT and multimedia staff. For more info about multimedia support in education click here.
Begun in 2021 and still active in 2025, the community has run monthly meets ups across the ANU campus and many workshops in the last 4 years. For example members have run a session on Zoom teaching + AV tips for academics, provided input on users of the Virtual Information Commons, shared Tech guides for students submitting videos and discussed how to create flipped classrooms at ANU.
In 2024 we also ran a successful “Presenting To Camera” for academics and staff which focused on creating a course Welcome Video (or any short piece to camera). Resources, links and recordings of this workshop are available below:
