The REx pathway provides a scaffolded professional development opportunity to three categories of Advance HE fellowships: Associate Fellowship (AFHEA), Fellowship (FHEA), and Senior Fellowship (SFHEA). It is run as a semester-long program twice a year, starting in March and September. By the end of the program, you are expected to submit a reflective evidence-based account of your professional practice, supported by one referee (AFHEA)/ two referees (FHEA and SFHEA).
To join a REx pathway group, you will need to:
- Complete our expression of interest form
- Be invited to join a REx pathway group. This happens twice a year: in late February and late August. You will be contacted via the email address you provided in the expression of interest form.
- Submit the REx pathway enrolment form, attaching your Advance HE Fellowship Category Tool feedback and draft Context Statement. You will receive the program enrolment link via email.
What to expect once you have joined a REx pathway group
Once you have completed the steps above, the EFS team will add you to an ANU REx group and accompanying MS Teams, where you can interact with other applicants and the EFS team. The groups run twice a year, with a first start date in March (for submission in August that year) and second start date in September (for submission in March the next year).
Throughout your group’s duration, you will be invited to optional workshops. These are opportunities to meet and share with other applicants, and receive support from the EFS team in writing your application.
The EFS team will also match you to an EFS mentor at the start of your group. For your benefit, you are required to have had feedback at least once on each component of your application from your EFS mentor before submitting. Note that you can submit your application at any time before the closing date for your group, but you will only receive the outcome after the review cycle has taken place. This happens twice a year, in March (for an outcome in May) and September (for an outcome in November).
