  • Introducing a new resource collection, ‘Course learning outcomes’

Explore our newly launched Course learning outcomes resource collection, designed to provide ANU educators with practical guidance and tips to develop effective learning outcomes.

The collection was initially developed in response to a request from the ANU School of Computing (SOCO) who identified a need for a guide that  teaching staff could refer to when writing learning outcomes. Through feedback and consultation, further improvements were made to the content of the guide, and we are now able to present it in the newly launched resources section of the ANU Learning and Teaching website.

Well-written course learning outcomes are central to the constructive alignment of learning activities, teaching approaches, and assessment, and help learners see the ‘why’ of the learning activities and assessment tasks they do. In short, they help ensure each component is constructively aligned and working towards the articulated goals and intentions of the course.

We welcome any feedback that will assist us in improving this resource and would love to hear from you if you have used it to assist in your writing of learning outcomes.

For more targeted support or if you would like to speak with an Education Designer, please contact clt@anu.edu.au. We also value any feedback you have on the resource collection.
