  • Three things you can expect to find at the Learning and Teaching Innovation Showcase

At the Learning and Teaching Innovation Showcase on 29 October, we celebrate ANU staff. Usually known for world-leading research, many of these same academics are also quietly working to improve educational experiences for their students, often in creative ways. The showcase highlights the outcomes of these innovators and acknowledges their efforts.

What can you expect from the day?

1. Posters and lightning

Throughout the morning, there will be examples of projects that have led to learning and teaching transformation and impact. Lightning presentations and a poster session means you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and talk with the person who worked on the project.

It’s not too late to contribute a poster: if you’d like to share your work, please send an email to clt@anu.edu.au before 1 October with a suggested title and a 2–4 sentence description of your proposed poster.

2. Networking and nibbles

As we work in our colleges or portfolios, we often lose sight of others who are working to solve similar problems. Following the morning’s Showcase, an optional networking lunch will give you the opportunity to meet, share insights and solutions with, and feel connected to our teaching and learning community. And everyone loves a free lunch.

3. Workshops and tools

You’ve been inspired by the morning’s showcase, and your conversations at the networking lunch. What do you do from here? Register for one of the optional workshops designed to give you practical tools you can put straight into practice. Choose from:

  1. Blended learning – Small changes, big impact: Ready to make some curriculum changes, but want to start small? Start here!
  2. Creating accessible digital content: Have you been meaning to learn how to make your content more accessible, but you keep putting it off? It’s easier than you think!
  3. Double workshop:

    1. Improving teamwork in undergraduate teaching at ANU: Want to explore some practical teamwork skill development tools, but experiencing challenges? Let’s talk!

    2. Developing a community of practice for transdisciplinary education at ANU: Are you working on the transdisciplinary graduate attribute? Let us help you find your people.

Bonus find: Colleagues and connection

Every part of the Learning and Teaching Innovation Showcase is designed to maximise your opportunities to connect. Whether you’re an experienced educator with a lot to share, or newer to the field with a lot to learn – your colleagues are waiting to meet you.

Meet someone new, share a chat over a cuppa, and leave with an exciting idea you can’t wait to put into action.
