The 2025 Vice-Chancellor’s Education Awards ceremony, held last week, celebrated educators and programs shaping learning and teaching across ANU. This year’s recipients were recognised for student-centred, inclusive and evidence-based practice that connects complex ideas to real-world contexts and supports students as active, self-directed learners.
Awards for Teaching Excellence honoured educators such as Dr Samira Nazar, Associate Professor Wai-Man Liu and Associate Professor Yujie Zhu for outstanding, sustained impact on student learning. Programs that Enhance Learning acknowledged initiatives including The Popsicule: ANU Science in Pop Culture and Entertainment Hub, alongside highly commended efforts such as the ANU Law School’s Peer-Assisted Learning Program and the redesigned Bachelor of Arts, which enrich the broader student experience.
The University also recognised Professor Colin Jackson with the Award for Excellence in Supervision for his long-term contributions to HDR supervision. Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning were awarded to staff including Dr Nico Klenner and Dr Rachael Rodney Harris, highlighting the diverse roles that enable student success. Finally, the Award for Excellence in Tutoring and Demonstrating, including highly commended recipients, celebrated the crucial day-to-day teaching work of tutors and demonstrators who support high-quality learning in ANU classrooms.
