Synopsis

YC’s teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that students learn most effectively in fun, safe, and supportive environments—particularly when the effort invested in designing engaging activities is clear. She emphasises that genuine understanding and consolidation of biological concepts in labs and tutorials occurs through active engagement with material and timely feedback at challenging moments—an aspect often difficult to achieve in large, technical tutorial groups.

Her commitment to creating interactive and supportive learning experiences has consistently fostered high levels of student engagement and recognition. This dedication was formally acknowledged with a 2023 Dean’s Commendation.
