Synopsis
Dr Kristen Murray is an outstanding educator in professional, clinical, and health psychology. A Clinical Psychologist and Senior Lecturer, she designs, delivers, evaluates, and leads world-class postgraduate training for the next generation of psychologists at ANU. She excels in creating courses, teaching activities, resources, and assessments that integrate theory with skill development, producing graduates who are career-ready and confident in professional practice.
Dr Murray engages students through applied and innovative teaching methods that simulate real-world practice, while fostering a warm, reflective, collaborative, and safe learning environment. She is deeply committed to the ongoing enhancement of teaching and learning, actively seeking and responding to feedback from students, peers, and stakeholders.
As Program Convenor of the Master of Professional Psychology (since 2022), she has demonstrated outstanding teaching leadership, placing student development, well-being, and voice at the centre of program design and governance. She has cultivated a positive and supportive program culture, ensuring students thrive both academically and personally.
Her sustained excellence in teaching and educational leadership has been recognised through six national and university awards, as well as invited presentations on teaching and learning.
